The Best 16 Ways To Simplify Your Life

The simple can be more difficult than the complex: you have to work hard to clean up your thinking to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end, because once you've done it, you can move mountains.

When you simplify your life, it will bring you balance, freedom, and joy. When we begin to live simply and experience these benefits, we begin to ask ourselves the question, "Where else in my life can I eliminate distractions and simplify life to focus on what is important?" Once we are able to answer this question, we will understand what is important in our own lives.

Before we get into the topic, let's make one thing clear. Simple does not always mean easy. You can find a solution that simplifies a problem, but implementing that solution is not necessarily easy. It always requires will and effort.

Choose the techniques that appeal to you right now. Also, don't try to accomplish too much at once—aim for small steps that have a lasting impact!

  1. Goals Reduce the number of goals you are trying to achieve in your life to one or two. By reducing the number of goals, you strive for, you will improve your focus and success rate.
  2. Your negative thoughts Most negative emotions are completely unnecessary. Resentment, bitterness, hatred, and jealousy have never improved the quality of anyone's life. Take responsibility for your mind.
  3. Reduce your debts—If debts are holding you captive, reduce them. Start today. Do what you need to do to free yourself from its burden. Seek the help you need and learn how to get rid of your debt. Sacrifice luxuries today to enjoy freedom tomorrow.
  4. Take out the trash—If you've been a little lazy and have allowed junk and recycling to build up around you, commit to taking out the trash.
  5. Make the bed—Start your day off on a good note by making the bed. A tidy bed at the start of the day sets the tone for a productive and happy afternoon and evening.
  6. Part with duplicate items: Do you own several items that you never use, such as spatulas, notebooks, or black cuffs? If so, ask yourself if you really need that item or if you can free up space at home by getting rid of one of those duplicates.
  7. Part with books you no longer need. Books you've never had time to read or books you know you'll never read again are a good place to start. Plus, there's always the library!
  8. Get rid of kitchen gadgets you don't use or like—There's nothing wrong with saying a kitchen gadget didn't work for you; you should now know what you like and don't like to use. Give yourself permission to get rid of items you don't use or don't like.
  9. Set simple monthly goals—Instead of making New Year's resolutions, set one to three goals per month. I've set three goals per month since January. This has helped me develop new habits, break down larger goals into more manageable chunks, and accomplish things I've wanted to do for a long time.
  10. Bring a bottle of water with you wherever you go—We all know it's very important to drink enough, but it's so much easier if you always have a water bottle with you.
  11. Declutter your closet: You know how you feel when you have too many clothes but nothing to wear? Yes, it's time to be really honest with yourself and get rid of that skirt you've had for a year and still have the tag hanging on (we've all been there, I know).
  12. Make a list of your to-do emails on paper –If you're overwhelmed by all the emails in your inbox, start at the top and write down any requests you've received or actions you need to take. Seeing these tasks on paper will help you prioritize and use your time more efficiently (instead of jumping from one email to the next, deciding which one to deal with next).
  13. Let your money grow: Unfortunately, you lose money if you let it sit dormant in a bank because of inflation. Inflation means that money loses value over time as prices rise.
  14. Go paperless: These days, there are paperless options for almost all bills, so you can both reduce the physical hassle and streamline bill paying when you switch to paperless.
  15. Make a note of your passwords—There is nothing worse than being locked out of an important account because you forgot your password.
  16. Turn off notifications: Constantly receiving notifications on your phone is a huge distraction. Try to disable as many app notifications as possible to be more productive.
